ingo: (bad hair day)

I'm relatively new to Etsy--started Fifth Heaven Designs in a fit of madness at the end of September--and I'm still not really familiar with the site or best selling practices. I had planned to list one or two items daily but I'm not sure if that's the best way to go.

How regularly do you list items on Etsy? How many items do you list at a time? Do you notice a difference in sales depending on what time you list items, or how many you list in one go?

Listing an item a day can keep your shop more current in the search results. Honestly, though, I'm never sure if my sales to new customers come from Etsy searches or my Ravelry advertisements, so it's hard to gauge what's helping. I do know that I've gone through periods of listing or renewing an item every single day (for a month, for instance), and had almost no sales.

I just reopened my etsy store about 2 weeks ago. I've heard people say that listing an item a day will generate sales.

However, with my "real day job" schedule and other commitments, I've never been able to make that work. Instead, I craft all week (as time allows), and then on Saturday or Sunday I take pictures of my finished items. And then I list them (either Sat. or Sun. afternoon). As far as how many items I list at time. That's usually somewhere between 2 and 6 items. It depends on how many items I was able to finish in a week.

All that said, I'm not saying my way it the way to go. I'm still struggling to make sales. It can be disheartening, at times, but I refuse to give up this time around!!
